After more than two years of waiting, Jen and Judy are almost back for a third and final go-round in the acclaimed Netflix dark comedy series Dead to Me. The last batch of episodes arrives in one week, and we cannot wait to see how this story ends for our favorite duo.
Premiering back in May 2019, it has been a long road for the show despite only consisting of three seasons. The pandemic led to a significant hold-up between seasons 2 and 3, and then star Christina Applegate went public with her multiple sclerosis diagnosis during the filming of season 3.
Filming was paused for a while for Applegate’s sake as she adjusted to life with MS. She has spoken publicly about how she now regularly uses a walking cane. However, Applegate was determined to see the show through and finish strong, so she eventually returned to complete the project.

Tired of being weighed down by guilt and not wanting to put her family in further danger, Jen leaves several letters in an “emergency” kit for her kids and Judy. She intends to leave them in Judy’s care as she prepares to turn herself in to the police. Jen goes to Detective Perez and tells her what happened. She takes Perez into the woods, where she and Judy previously buried Steve’s body, but can’t find his grave.
