It’s safe to say that with the arrival of Covid, artists and fans have been craving those special moments that come from the magic of a live show. For more than two years, many artists have been forced to release projects and perform for fans watching virtually at home, but those days have come to an end as tours have started up once again.
Though 2022 certainly saw an honest attempt at normalcy, those in entertainment hope that 2023 will bring a year full of shows and events to make up for lost time. Shondaland is running down all the 2023 music tours we’re most excited about (make sure to keep saving, however, as more artists are sure to announce future tour dates in 2023).
For the first time in 10 years, fans can be excited as Blink-182 have announced a new album and tour for 2023 to 2024. Along with their announcement, Blink-182 shocked fans by revealing they would be touring with former frontman Tom DeLonge, who previously decided to leave the group in 2015. DeLonge recently took to Instagram to personally thank Matt Skiba, former fill-in lead singer, for keeping the band together in his absence, and though Skiba was amazing in his time with the band, it is exciting to know the original kings of pop-punk are back together!
With the recent release of their seventh studio album, The Car, Arctic Monkeys began their tour in December 2022 but will do the majority of their shows in 2023, beginning their North American leg in August through the fall. The English band always bring suavity to the stage, so fans should be excited to hear them play timeless classics and some new songs off their latest record.
After what feels like a lifetime (almost five years now), Ed Sheeran has announced that he is taking his Mathematics Tour to the United States, bringing some real star power along with him. For the May 6 to September 2 dates, Khalid will join Sheeran, with rapper Russ helping to close out the end of the tour from September 9 to September 23.
This tour is definitely a must-see as it is unknown when Sheeran will be in America again, and to sweeten the deal a bit more, Sheeran has already promised a new album as well, which could mean new music for the tour.
