Nearly 100 artists have applied so far – and more applying daily to be part of this year’s Musical Mystery Tour, which is set to return after a hiatus due to the pandemic. Organisers say that if the crowd at the recent Rivertown Beer and Music Festival is anything to go by: “Hertford music fans are hungry for our annual August Bank Holiday frenzy.”
Having grown from just a couple of stages the first time to around 40 in recent years, the annual musical celebration is one of the biggest and most popular.
Featuring hundreds of individual musicians, vocalists and DJs performing at venues around the county town – pubs, clubs, shops, restaurants, the library, the museum and public spaces – it covers pretty much every musical genre under the sun, from classical, choral and jazz through to rock, folk and world music.
