ATEEZ is rising up — in more ways than one — with their latest album release.
The K-pop boy band’s The World EP.1 : Movement marks the group’s best effort on the Billboard 200, as the record soars into the chart at No. 3 this week with 50,000 equivalent album units earned. After a sold-out arena tour earlier this year, The World EP.1 is not only the latest moment of ATEEZ breaking through in America but coincides with the group’s ongoing message of breaking out of everyday norms and suffering.
The World EP.1 kicks off a new series of albums for ATEEZ, bound by an ongoing storyline the group says was first hinted to back in January 2020. The new single “Guerrilla” speaks to the eight-member troupe wanting to change and uplift the world through music and dance. Throughout the new album, the small but mighty octet wants to wash away any chaos and confusion in the world — which aptly describe today’s reality — and provide courage and strength to listeners.
“We put a lot of effort into laying out different flow compositions for each song,” member Mingi shares of The World EP.1 : Movement. “Since it is the first album of a new series, rather than keeping the same vibe as our existing songs, we tried to create a fresh and exciting sound that sticks in the mind.”
